Still getting a lot of visits to this blog which I can understand but please visit our new website.
Created a new website for blog with lots of new features including a download section, a review section and a music player, I have tried to make it a bit more interactive and more of a resource for bands and labels wanting to promote themselves as people can now submit tracks from their new releases or upcoming releases, there is a download section created to allow bands to submit there own releases for free download, also submit news on bands labels new releases and a place for all those want to be reviewers looking for a place to publish their reviews a place where you can submit your reviews of records

Sorry we have not done anything in the last couple of weeks have been busy trying to get a new website together which will hopefully be way better than the blog that we have at the moment and hopefully also look better and more user friendly as well. We will also have a music player bringing you some tracks from new and upcoming releases. Hopefully website will be done next week!!

Review: Krang - "The Bog of Eternal Stenchcore" 7"

This some wretching stenchcore that is more verging on a hardcore sound than the more metallic sound that seems to be associated with a lot of stench bands. This 7" starts off with a little tune that seems to just creep and lurk along before KRANG finally just kick into gear with 'the Bog' which is some nasty sounding punk with the song seemingly haunted by the tune at the beginning,
Flipping over Krang seem to slow down leaving behind the ferocity of side A for a more slow down heaving sound until half way through this side they kick back in spewing out aload of energetic stench once again,
Overall a cool debut would love more power behind the sound, but still good none the less. The art alone deserves a review of itself with some cool goblin style fantasy of a wretched bog and the poster included is just a master piece and a must see.

The idea is just a place for bands, labels, zine writers and who ever else wants to, be able to give more info on release discuss new releases,upcoming releases and all other bits and piece involving punk news, this is more a thing that I am messing about with more than anything, hopefully we all can use this and build on it to create something cool in the future time will tell, check it out and get typing.

Also have a space so that anyone can write their own reviews on LPs,EPs,CDs and Zines whether you are a seasoned writer or never wrote a review before.

Review: Fear of Extinction - Demo Tape

From the get go this is an absolute thundering demo with power that is hard to truly express, but will give it a shot anyway, the bass just seems to trundle through the whole demo as if a support for everything else but it just gives an intense sound of distorted power. Which is complimented by some heavy hitting drums and a noisey guitar which just drones with the bass to give the demo a distort dooming hardcore sound and to top it all off early Discharge style vocals which just makes this a fantastic demo, also comes with a patch and a sticker but thats not why you should get this demo it's cause it is deadly, the patch and sticker are an appreciated bonus with the demo.

I just seen Putrefaction last weekend and they were absolutely amazing as always one of my favourite bands, there music just absolute Gritty Post-Apocalyptic Crust. That is play with such unrelenting passion and fury it just knocks your socks off, the lads have been together 5 or 6 years now and amazingly have just released their 'Destroyers' demo CD-R//Cassette a few years ago which you can download,

I feel the best way to describe them is MAD MAX CRUST just unrelenting punishing and uuugggghhhhhhh!!!! They are recording a LP in a month which will be hopefully out on Distro-y Records and Underground Movement sometime later this year. They are also playing with Hellbastard on the 9th/April in Dublin! But in the meantime check them out here:

"The darkest hour is upon us. The legends have returned.

AMEBIX, one of the best-loved and most influential bands in heavy music, have spent the last two years working towards this, a defining moment in heir storied career - the release of their first collection of all-new material since 1987.

On September 20, 2011, upon the cusp of the autumnal Equinox, the new AMEBIX album will be released. Entitled Sonic Mass, these nine songs represent the past, present, and future of the band, and will enthrall and inspire longtime fans and new converts alike. As dark, crushing, and honest as anything on their classics Arise! and Monolith, but imbued with a lifetime of hardship, raw emotion, and eternal hope, Sonic Mass is the album AMEBIX have always wanted to create.

The album was recorded at Rock Cottage in Derbyshire and The Lodge Studios in Northampton, England, and engineered, mixed and produced by AMEBIX drummer Roy Mayorga. Sonic Mass will be released digitally and on CD by Alternative Tentacles, with a deluxe 12" vinyl edition from Profane Existence.

Formed in the late seventies and hailed as the godfathers of crust punk and extreme metal, AMEBIX had long lain dormant until the addition of drummer Roy Mayorga (Nausea, Crisis, Soulfly, Stone Sour), a DVD release, and a string of 2009 reunion shows reignited the flame. The band's resurrection first resulted in the release of 2010's Redux EP, which features live and rerecorded versions of several of the band's best-loved classics, including "Winter," "Chain Reaction," and the immortal battle cry, "Arise." The songs were remixed by Mayorga and Redux is available from Profane Existence on CD, 12" LP and digitally. Now, the time has come to finish what they started. A whole new chapter in the AMEBIX saga has begun."

Second 7" from New Yorkers is a powerful noisey 7" that has alot of energy charged up inside really bringing back the 80's in a record this release an absolute shock of a mix of Disorder from the UK and the early 80's Finnish bands of the likes of Tampere SS and Kaaoss and with dose of Japanese noise to add to effect.

A band that in the 6 or 7 months have taken the noisey distort world by storm with so many release in such a short time but for me this has been the best so far, this is complete brutal noise played with a whole of lot distort, all the release have been great just this one in particular has stood out, it was combined with the first tape and released on Shogun Records (France)

Spectres - Last Days LP (New Dark Age Records)
Bring a peace punk and post punk infused sound to the front with what I feel can only best be described as a mix of The Mob and Joy Division. Their is a some eerieness to the feel of the vocals and the sound over all giving a bit of a deathrock/gothic sound to the record. But it is a very powerful record that is not driven by a wall of distort just a collective sound that carries through.

Review: Oi Polloi/KANSALAISTOTTELEMATTOMUUS CD EP

This split cd release of legendary punk band Oi Polloi and KT with both bands contributing 2 tracks each and all profit from the release going towards the rebuilding of the Cyklopen centre in Stockholm that was burnt by neo Nazis. Maybe it is me that I find that when bands do split cds I don’t enjoy them as much compared to 7 inch releases but what do I know?
Oi Polloi need no introduction and in my eyes one of the most important punk bands ever more, kicking off this is split cd is Cyklopen: one of the weakest Oi Polloi songs that has been written, if Dikki vocals were removed this would be a stereotypical new metal song for me personally this an automatic skip when listening to this ep. The next track System is one of the best Oi Polloi songs they have recorded it has a great chorus that will have crusties,punks and skinhead all singing along and plenty of the energy to boot also.
Kansalaistottelemattomuus
The problem I have with KT side of this split is that Phoenix and Gaza sound like Oi Polloi apart from a louder and distorted bass sound. Phoenix and Gaza are very good songs that are in a Conflict/Motorhead vein and these songs should be judge separately and given its merit but with Dikki in both bands and his sings/shouts style of vocals is always recognisable .I found that I could not tell which is the Oi Polloi side and which is the KT side I thought on the first two listens that the Oi Polloi side was KT songs and vice and versa.
The booklet is very impressive going into great detail about the construction of the original Cyklopen and a great insight into a new alterative to squatting due to the EU and the police states getting heavy handed about squatting. The artwork for the KT side is poor and looks like something from one of the Harry Potter books while the Oi Polloi is simple and more striking to eye but people aren’t gonna buy this split due to the artwork and at 5euro going to a good cause and 3 out of the songs being very good this is a well worth purchase in recessionary times .

Okkultokrati—“No Light for Mass” LP

Revisiting genre staples with restrained, subtle taste, Okkultokrati prove modest and mature in their artistry. I was instantly reminded of Arckanum by the metal moments and Protestant in the punk parts. Gruff, gruff vocals: harsh, spiteful. The drums chop and cruise at times, riding like Hellhammer, somersaulting other times in Sabbath fashion, weaving in and out with a beefy, Clydesdale d-beat. The album churns and chugs and sways and sags and sprints and plods and gallops. It features enough detuned, crane-necked riffing, grated chord-work, rung-out tones to satisfy all manner of heavy-music fans. This LP is humble in its battering, never lunging at gimmicks or over-reaching or masturbating for its audience. If I had to choose a single word to describe “No Light for Mass” it would be solid. (Okkultokrati have also released the equally ripping, slightly more punk “Knarkskog” EP and are currently working on a new 7”, entitled “Ingen Veit Alt.”)

Review: Herätys - S/T 12"

Too short. This album is entirely too short. If it were any longer, though, maybe I wouldn’t be listening to it over and over again. Snappy snare, swamped bass drum, two-toned crashes hurl d-beats all over the room and against your head like a drunk punk in a tin waste-can factory. Relentless. Piss-whine feedback and wanked strings find an avenue over air-fisting breakdowns, neatly sandwiched between gravel walls of frantic riffing. The vocals implore you to shut the fuck up for a minute, because that’s how long the song needs to start and finish. These Sweden-dwelling Finns harken back to their forefathers, electroshocking Kaaos sensibility into 21st century hardcore. A 12” pressed for infinite flipping.

Review: Balaclava—Shame 7”

A pal of mine tips me off on heaps of talented bands, many of them hailing from near his hometown. Balaclava is one such band. Group of five fine gents, two main throats amongst them—one, that of a vitriolic banshee, and the other, a dungeoned innocent recently released, decrying political maneuvers and the personal woes affiliated. The drumming is as precise as a weathered blacksmith’s smelting hand, a d-beat coursing down through marrow, bursted ore belching in the flames, with drum rolls on the upswing, plodding passages cuffing his shoulder, cymbals sparking off the anvil. Soaring riffs. Blackbirds, I imagine, circling a firepit, gleam buried in their feathers and under their wing-shadows, igniting, spiraling, nose-diving. I am reminded of Tragedy because any neo-crust/d-beat hardcore band reminds me of them, but more so I am reminded of Kakistocracy, to be accurate. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, sheltering, befriending Balaclava, and, lastly, seeing Balaclava play—luckily, they happen to punish.

Review: Herätys - S/T 12"

I heard about alot of amazing things about this record and Heratys but I didnt get around to getting this until its second pressing (released July 2010), as the first pressing which was released in January 2010 sold out before I could get my hands on it and I am glad I finally got my hands on it. This is an electricifying ripper of a LP that shows the quality of hardcore that can still exist today and that even though there is nothing quiet new to the sound of Heratys, what they do they do it well, VERY WELL. They bring 80's hardcore of old mash it together with little rock n roll lick's and solo's like that of Skitkids to create something wonderful.
The energy of this is record is powerful enough that if you ever sat alone listening to the record by the end of it you would be going mad having a one man party, I cannot wait to see this band live. If you haven't got this yet go and get it NOW. It is an instant classic LP and will go down in the books as a record everyone should have.

Review: Cull - “Erosion”

I will not insult this release by doing any of the following: write three sentences, two of which reduce its qualities to generic touchstones; segment my review into a track-by-track analysis; repeatedly draw attention to the sex of each musician in the band. This being said, I’d like to also mention that I am adhering to this path for one reason—the nature of Cull’s music, or at least their musical style paired with the small number of tracks on “Erosion” suggests such a treatment.
They’ve recorded three tracks here, the first being the shortest and the last, the longest. I applaud their consciousness of composition. To lure their listeners, Cull first stamps an emotional impression, gracing ears with a snapshot of melancholic acceptance, dark brown healing, brief tides of hope. They then stake a road sign, a directive for one’s expectations that maintains the melancholy, the brown, but points you toward an open field of bowed burr-heads and untrodden weeds. Now that you have exited the forest of civilization and come upon the sobering expanse of self-acceptance, -reliance, -sustainability, you must trudge onward and endure existence for the sake of future endeavors. You’ve been abandoned, but by choice. You parsed out your own rejection years ago, taking the unintentional, subtle cues of strangers, acquaintances, family. They don’t want you. You don’t belong, and neither does Cull. Now you have shaken yourself free.
Once camaraderie and attention have been safely cemented, the meat of your passage unfolds, revealing explicit wounds, the festering egg-sacs of flies, familiar mental states. I can safely say that “Erosion” does not satisfy a schizoid mind-frame, nor does it bring home the assault-rifle satisfaction of, say, your favorite powerviolence band, but it does inspire, foster, bolster, confirm the very same feelings. They are simple feelings, easily labeled, but when mingling in your mind, these feelings strike like a bag of Master locks in slow motion. I am angry; I am sad; I love; I love; I hate; I am alone. I am washed over by a bitter potpourri of emotions, seemingly contradictory yet honest and somehow bright. I receive inspiration and comfort from Cull’s music in the same way I am uplifted by Samothrace or Fall of Efrafa, their plodding flagellation, their soaring separation, the streams of long-pardoned offenses. Honest revelry, joined by those who share your solitude.
The riffs swell and squirm and puncture and batter at once. The drums roll, tumble, thunder. I am brought to my knees, bones warped by the voice, flesh mangled, but I must stare at the sun. Let Cull beat you down, because once you collapse with your eyes blotted out and your voice twisted, you’ll come to realize that the sludge, the sod is your true home.

Review: Freedoom - Doomed Condition LP

One of the only bands I know from Portugal releasing there powerful crustcore on us through "Doomed Condition" LP. Playing a D-Beaty hardcore along the lines of, yes thats right a Scandinavian influence. They have a gritty raw energy which has grabbed my attention for the day, there is nothing new but here but I just cannot stop spinning. From listening to them I get a strong links from riffs and sounds that make me think of Wolfbrigage but what sets Freedoom apart is they have just a bit more of a sharper abrassive sound whihc is something I prefer.
All in all 10 songs - 6 in English, 4 in Portugese with English translations- of nice raw guitars in overdrive abrassive vocals and constant d-beat drumming making this nothing but a solid LP but all in all nothing new.

Band Profile: Electric Funeral

I have review this band twice so far and have praise the noise and the distort that this band bring to the table, and they fairly bring it. Now on there third demo "Gröndalen" and on the verge of making it on to vinyl LP in next few weeks I thought this band needs to be recommended to all you noisy D-Beat Beaters out there. Three demo's of 8 tracks a piece of just complete noise devastation. With songs of all the usually nature of punk bomb raids, animal right and the destruction of the earth all behind a wall of noisy high voltage raw distort D-Beat attacks.
Electric Funeral vinyl debut is set to be out on Shogun Records in a few weeks time there is also two 7"s in the pipeline "make noise, not war" (detonate rec.) and "harvester of death" (crucificados).

Review: Finisterre - Bitter Songs LP

Finisterre debut LP since the split LP with Alpinist who went on to delivery a fantastic LP, so now it is Finisterre's turn to live up to what Alpinist created and they do with a crushingly emotionally epic record which when it kicks in it gives you a good kick as well with strong vocals which you can feel passion with in. The first song 'Orwell Nation' starts off with a nice slow intro of just a crushing intro before putting it into full throttle and blast you with drums that catch you in a moment before the vocals grab you and make you go 'YES I FUCKEN LOVE THIS'. There is a good bit of emotion and passion that comes off this records through both vocals and guitars. Fairly fancy lyric book, with the lyric's contained featuring topics such as the surveillance of our daily lives,EU laws against immigration, sexism. Songs come with explanation which I just I love as it gives you that bit more to read and really invokes your feelings toward the injustices of this world.

Review: Upheaval Fanzine #13

A4 cut and paste black and white zine, which had been in the making for a long time as the content show and also as the writer Craig has declared it within his little editorial but that doesn't matter it means you get to read reviews of releases you may have once missed out on hearing of or sadly may have completely due to them being sold out since, however what I love about the reviews is there is loads of them and the issue contains 100+ reviews of Hardcore Punk bands from over 30 countries and this is exactly what I like about this zine instead of focusing on entirely US or Swedish or Japanese bands as many fanzine tend to do(D-Beat Beater being guilty of such acts), Craig goes about showing there is Crust and Hardcore in other places too, with reviews of releases from China - Turkey of course there is the odd Swedish and US review to, there is also interviews with Hellowar (Indonesia), Malazlar (Turkey) and Agitator (Serbia) giving a look into punk scenes elsewhere, and also an interview with some local Boston punk legend that gives you a small bit of info on the writers local scene of Boston(US). Nice small reads great for picking up with a cup of tea as to read reviews and little insights on the world of punk, the physical construction of the zine could be a bit more reader friendly however.

Review: Vicious Irene - Trash your future 7"

Vicious Irene from Sweden are a 4 piece female melodic hardcore band, that have been going since 2001 however this is the first release of theirs that I have heard and I want more, from the beginning this is a savage release with a nice up tempo drum beat leading to what seems like something by a D-Beat band but before they kick in to "A Constant Fight" a song about equality for females in this macho bullshit scene of ours. The solid drumming continues throughout the 7" being the backbone of the record, the guitar brings in some nice simple but deadly riffs which give a real rocking hardcore sound, and the female melodic singing/shouting giving the real melodic feel to the record and with a couple of members joining at times to create a gang chorus. My favourite song has got to be the final track 'Hysteria' just a real kicking track that slows down during the chorus bringing this kinda grungy kinda feel before kicking back to full throttle again before finally bowing out with a slow kinda grungy sound once again.

Really really deadly 7" every track is amazing and is a solid in every way. Deadly!!!!

Review: Nuclear Death Terror - Total Annihilation 7"

This 7" has been out a while since Autumn last year, if I am not wrong, but it deserves to be praised as its dirty, heavy and Crust as fuck. This is a 3 track ep which originally was suppose to be part of a four way split CD/LP VISIONS OF WAR/ INSTINCT OF SURVIVAL/GUIDED CRADLE which would have been one hell of a record. But anyway we now have this great 7" of Apocalyptic Crustcore. The 7" as a whole is just a complete crustal assault on the senses with hard hitting crusty hardcore, chunky riffs thrown in there and with seemingly eerie little solos fading in throughout a song, with growling vocals barking out lyrics of song about self destruction and living in todays culture, a culture of nothing. In essence everything about this record is fairly crusty from the gritty layout to the scrawled writing and old type writer font, to the cover which screams apocalyptic crust to the music which is a real charge to the head. The 7" in all is an absolute killer, just like all of their releases before.

A//Political - The Great working Crass rip off - Discography LP + Book

I have never been so happy or excited about a record as when this record arrived at my door. A//Political are one of my favourite bands of all time so there will be no surprise that I will have nothing but great things to say about them. Anyway after a long wait this record finally is out it is one that see's one of the most active anarcho peace punk bands songs and writing compiled into a 60 page book and LP/CD.
A//Political claimed 'the music is just a soundtrack to the words' although this maybe true, what a great soundtrack you can hear their heavily influenced peace punk carrying aspects of bands such as Crass and Conflict but brought together with a bit more speed and aggression to create a more faster tempo and hard hitting anarcho punk soundtrack, with similar drum beats of Crass and interludes which bring you to the next lyrically packed verse in which you will need the lyrics to keep up as they are spat out with passion across the soundtrack.
The book holds between its cover, the lyrics to the songs including some tracks which are on the CD and not the LP these are tracks which featured on the 'Planting the Seeds of Revolution' demo tape these lyrics are well thought out that takes a good look at the system in which we live in and in songs like 'Stop Thinking
and Pogo' and 'Obscene Gestures' sizes up the punk community which we belong in. Also in the book is an interview between the band and Profane Existence and history of the band as well as some old fliers. Finally we come to the communiques which were put out by the band, giving you that extra bit of anarchism.
They were a band that seemed to pick up from where the 80's Anarcho bands left off trying to improve things, and broaden the look beyond that of the punk community to that of the wider world.
Great album and the book has got everything you need for a good read on Anarchism and punk.

Review: The Hunger -Winter 7"

The Hunger follow up to their "Hope Against Hope" 12" released in 2008, with this 7" the Winter. This is a style of Hardcore with big chunky riff with plenty of breakdowns, which I must say I am not a huge fan of, I am more raw and distort. But I must say I do like it compared to other stuff I have heard from this style of hardcore, the first two songs on side A have a groove that kept my head bobbing and my foot tapping throughout it, The third song which I believe is a re-recorded song from a demo is a of a more kinda hard hitting hardcore that didnt seem to have that cool sound that kinda grabbed with the first two tracks and did nothing for me really just did nothing for me bar the intro. I am not a fan but for those of you who may like that chunky riff hardcore it they might be worth checking out

Subhumans (UK) will have a new 4-way split double CD coming out soon called 09:09 Split Fusion with A-Political(Belfast), 1000 Drunken Nights, The Lobotomies. Band Profile: URSUS

Hailing from Barcelona, Spain, comes URSUS with some frantic hardcore that is tight as fuck and crusty as fuck too. Their Crusty hardcore style is fairly infectious as otherwise I do not think I would be writing about them, in thus saying that it may come as no surprise when you hear that members of URSUS have been in Cop On Fire, Ekkaia and Hongo bands to have set the bar for hardcore music but this should be no reason why you like a band it should because of URSUS's top notch tunes, check them out for yourself:

Band Profile: DESPERAT

We have decided to start a new part to our webzine blog and it is simpley on the basis of new bands to look out for and just a bit of general info so hope you enjoy this band any others we feature.

From Sweden arrives another great band, DESPERAT more so veterans of the punk scene if I may so, but that does not take away any of the energy they still play that infectious racket of hardcore that Sweden just churns out. "Formed in summer 2009 as a power trio." they enlisted Jocke on vocals into the band earlier this year, Their sound is best described as a raw 80s sound of just pure old school hardcore plain simple and brilliant.

Oh ya and if all of what I just said hasnt caught your attention members feature: MOB 47 and Warvictims. Expect a LP later this year but in the mean time here is a music video to give yous a taster.

Review: Predition -S/T 7"

From New York come a raw punk attack outfit named Perdition, they have a sound which I find myself liking with every listen to them and other similar such bands it is of a raw punk sound with a nice bit of distortion which isnt to heavy just a bit of feedback solid hardcore sound all round. Its a mix of early 80's Scandi Hardcore like Tampere SS and Kaaos with that of Japanese distortion. Nice high voltage guitars,steady drum beats and lots of singing. Over all this is a fairly solid record and a band that are worth a few minutes of your time without doubt really early 80's feel about this record from the sound to the lyrics sheet and general layout very chaotic and very cool.

Review: Shades of Grey - Freedom/Incarceration LP

This is the first full lenght LP of Shades of Grey from Sweden, which follows there split LP with Massmord which if you havent heard yet, Stop reading this review and get yourself a copy then please come back and read this review and then go get this LP as it to is as perfect. Shade of grey kick off with a nice dark slow intro before seriously ripping up with their brand of hard hitting melodic Crustcore, this seems to be a theme that contiues throughout the record dulging into these slow bleak doomy sounding strums of a guitar slowly lining you up before knocking you down with a wall of brutal crustcore. It seems to be the done thing by many bands and it can get a bit repetitive but not if you are listening Shades of Grey, who set the bar that bit higher with this record.
Kick ass band and kick ass record!!!

Review: Electric Funeral - Make A Change Cassette

And I thought the first tape was good. This is another 8 - tracks of
1 minute and something of pure distort D-beat. I feel the songs on
this are a bit more catchier especially my favourite track 'Warface'
great little sample intro for it. This is some brutal distort and played
exactly perfect it is infectious noise that you cannot stop listening to.
The lyrics hold up as good as the noise with songs about Consumerism,
the training for the mentality of war, and how we are slaves to TV and
the internet. This is some very solid stuff and I can see them becoming
a strong element of distort D-Beat in the next few months with their
releases beginning to start to line up.
If you like Noise punk get this tape and their first and everything else
they release.

Review: Electric Funeral - D-Beat Noise Attack Cassette

I dont know much about this band except I really like them.
This is there first demo of pure distort d-beat noise and its great, high
in distort and high in quality, I often feel that with distort the noise can
be to high and it ruins the tracks but this is done perfectly you can
hear everything perfectly behind the high voltage distort. 8 tracks in all
of this d-beat noise attack of songs about Animal Rights, the death of
mother earth, Bomb raids and D-Beat Noise Attack. This ticks all the
boxs for me from lyrical content to the high octane Noise down to the
typical but well laid-out cover and lyrics and is well worth checking out
The electric blue cassette tape really complements the name as well.

But ya if you like distorted D-takt you will love this.

Review: Anaeroba "Over the Walls and Borders" LP

The second album from this band from Slovenia, this first came out on CD
and I had heard it was coming out on vinyl so I delayed for around year
before I could get my hands on it, well worth the wait gate-fold cover and
coloured vinyl, but nevermind that stuff the music itself is fantastic and
crustal sound that reminds me a lot of Scotitsh Anarcho/crust bands like
Scatha, Sedition and Constant Fear with lyrical subjects dealing with Animal
Liberation, Homophobia and other sorts of topics along the same lines.
Anaeroba have a great sound that is kinda of 10 years behind the sound of
crust today which seems to be all the slowed down epic build ups and this is
great as it is playing stuff that we love but it is only played by bands that
seem not to exist anymore. Real kinda filthy Crust that seems to take the
best parts of the best bands and mash it into their sound. Artwork done by
Stiv. Tis great stuff and well worth checking out.

Review: Anthrax - Welcome/One Last Drop mCD

After twenty years since their last recordings, Anthrax newest recordings are offered in the form of a mini CD named after the two songs featured "Welcome" and "One Last Drop". I have felt that Anthrax were one of the best Anarcho bands who were offered up by the 80's but I also think of them as one of the least appreciated bands of that era, In this recording they seem to have changed their sound to one of a slower pace and I keep feeling the raw aggression and passion you hear from their older recordings in songs like "Exploitation" "Capitalism is Cannibalism" isn't there, Overall it sounds like a different band and in "One Last Drop" nearly more of an 'Oi!' sound is creeping in with "Woooaahh"'s being introduced but this does not take away what the songs is about it is of strong lyrical content with the song I feel about a lack of protest today and government getting away with murder.
The other song "Welcome" also gives a similar sound except even slower, but once again lyrically strong. I prefer older sound than these songs, which sound like a totally different band has written them which is understandable after the 20 years it is a long time, lyrically you cannot knock this band, they out shine most bands today, and the artwork continues on same lines as of their discography LP - One Last Drop
Overall it is not a bad release I found myself enjoying songs more and more with every listen but just dont expect to listen to the same Anthrax as of before.
